Yes : Time And A Word A1 / B2 1st Press Red / Plum 1970 Atlantic
This first pressing is stunning! Having played every track in full I can confidently say the clarity could hardly be any more impressive. The only real background are four very light ticks at the end of 'Then' but this quiet vocal section still plays beautifully. The sonic quality on both sides is superb and it has to be the finest version of this classic album that I have ever sold, not bad for a red / plum pressing! The vinyl is in lovely condition which is hardly surprising.
The cover is in great condition with only very minimal wear and the lyric sheet is incredibly clean, almost 'as new'. The original inner sleeve is also in excellent condition. A stunning album in so many ways.

Visual description
The vinyl is in superb condition and still holds a very impressive glossy sheen with no marks or scratches. Only when I look under a bright light can I see a very small number of ultra faint hairlines which have zero impact on the stunning audio. In 'normal' room lighting the vinyl is immaculate! The run out grooves are very clean and the red / plum Atlantic labels have lost none of their original colouring and have only a little spindle wear.
Play grading
The run in on S1 has no background and then the organ intro on 'No Opportunity Necessary, No Experience needed' is nigh on perfect with only a couple of minor statics. The 'symphonic' section then plays with stunning clarity and power and Anderson's opening vocal has no intrusion at all. The sonic quality is superb, the playback so strong and deep, and it progresses in the same way. I can't stress enough just how clean and powerful the audio is, in a word STUNNING! The mid instrumental is 'as new' and the final vocal section / instrumental is perfect. A Mint start to the album.
With complete silence in the dead wax the slow quiet build up intro on 'Then' has not one dust tick let alone anything more and the first verse / chorus vocal is of the same high end standard. The very proggy mid instrumental could not play any better and again the depth of the audio really stands out. The quiet end section has a hint of barely audible static at the start, it really is so so quiet, and it then plays with sublime clarity with only four light ticks around the first line of the final vocal and a couple of dust ticks after that and a couple of statics on the fade out. It still plays remarkably well so I will grade the majority as Mint and the end vocal as Ex+
'Everydays' plays with a clarity and depth that could not be any more impressive. The opening vocal is flawless and the instrumental section is mind-blowing! So clear and powerful with no distortion on the top end. Superb work here from all of the band. The final vocal / instrumental has no background and Mint is definitely a fair assessment of the audio. What a version!
'Sweet Dreams' ends the side with exceptional audio from start to finish. There is no intrusion on the audio and again the sonic quality is phenomenal. The power, depth and clarity on offer here is what you only get from a vinyl that has been so well looked after. No interference and Mint all the way.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The intro on 'The Prophet' again demonstrates how well this vinyl has been cared for as it plays so clearly with no interference. Just a hint of barely audible static on the top end of the Hammond organ. As Bruford comes in the audio is faultless and the first verse plays to perfection. The vocals are so clean and fresh and it continues to play with sublime quality. Superb power and depth once more with no intrusion and the instrumental ending is a prime example of that. The intro deserves a Near Mint grade and the rest is Mint for sure.
'Clear Days' plays beautifully without any background. The audio separation is first class i.e. each note plays with such clinical precision, none of the original audio quality is lost. This is Mint in every way.
The intro from Banks on 'Astral Traveller' has no interference and the entire opening vocal section plays with stunning clarity and depth, 'as new' sums it up. The mid instrumental keeps up the good work and there is nothing that detracts from the audio, the playback is just fantastic! Honestly the power of the audio is phenomenal and the end vocal / instrumental has no background either. This is the definitive version and has to be graded as Mint such is the sonic quality.
The acoustic intro on 'Time And A Word' plays with perfectly clarity and the opening vocal is just as strong. A vocally driven track with a great melody it continues to play with genuine quality through every section. There is no interference and only a hint of minimal inner groove distortion, seriously so so minor and totally non-intrusive. The long fade out has no background and Mint- is fair. A stunning album!
The Cover, Lyric Insert & Inner Sleeve
The infamous cover is in great condition with no obvious wear. The top edge has only a couple of very small faint 'rubs' and the bottom edge has only light rubbing towards each corner. The spine is so clean and remains 100% legible with barely any wear on the corners and the right hand corners are very clean also. The opening edge has no handling wear at all. The front cover is again so clean which is impressive when you consider its colour. It has the bare minimum of fading on the left edge and only a hint of very faint ringwear on the right side. The back cover is very similar with only one tiny corner crease bottom left and minor surface rub near the top edge. A fine example.
The lyric sheet is practically 'as new' with only a small number of tiny dots near the bottom edge and no creasing. The original poly-lined 'Plastic Bags...' inner sleeve (dated 0670) has only minimal age related fading around the edge, no side splits and only a little creasing.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
