Description

An original 1st issue of TYA on the Atlantic label. Please note early 1st pressings are obtainable with very 1st Campbell Connelly credit - and would have been available spring 1971. Matrix A1/B1 - 1st cut. This copy, however, exhibits 'Rondor' credits from a few months later - toward the end of the initial chart-run. The vinyl comes housed in an original "super" MacNeill gatefold with Atlantic sticker on the rear. Also included is a correct generic white inner with blue text. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen very light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a few very superficial marks per side - absolutely nothing troublesome in any way. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with two slight deviations. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. A really very impressive rendition. With all the dynamic and intricate movements in YES music you really need a copy that's going to manage to convey this properly, without the dreaded background interference to distract. And this copy manages just that...a really sweet and clean player all the way through. Expect nothing more a couple of isolated crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. The deviations are one solitary tick in '..Good People' & one in 'Perpetual Change' [absolutely no big deal]. Even in those very low-key acoustic sections - just clean and clear...really nice. Way way better than what usually surfaces. If you want to hear the distortion in the guitar sound properly and intricate percussion. You're going to need a really clean and lightly used copy.
Cover (Ex) Difficult to find in tip-top condition, but this example is definitely a cut above the rest. Lovely clean and flat surfaces without creasing. Worth noting those blacks are still looking pristine. Don't miss the Atlantic sticker in the top left on the rear. The interior is pretty much immaculate. There's edge wear, but it's far less than you typically find and the openings are still sharpish. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A truly impressive specimen.
Inner (Ex-) Lightly aged. No markings or splits. Nice!
