Fragile is the fourth studio album from the English progressive rock band Yes, released in November 1971 on Atlantic Records. It is their first album recorded with keyboardist Rick Wakeman after the departure of Tony Kaye earlier in the year. Formed of nine tracks, four of which are group performances while five are solo features written by each member. It marked the band's first collaboration with artist Roger Dean, who would design their logo and many of their future covers.

Fragile is formed of nine tracks; four are "group arranged and performed" with the remaining five being "the individual ideas, personally arranged and organised" by the five members. Squire reasoned this approach was necessary in part to save time and reduce studio costs,as money was used to purchase keyboard equipment for Wakeman. According to Bruford: "There was this endless discussion about how the band could be used ... I felt we could use all five musicians differently ... So I said (brightly) 'Why don't we do some individual things, whereby we all use the group for our own musical fantasy? I'll be the director, conductor, and maestro for the day, then you do your track, and so on.'"Wakeman commented on the album's structure. "Some critics thought this was just being flash. The thinking behind this was that we realised there would be a lot of new listeners coming to the band. They could find out where each individual player's contribution lay."

All records are professionally cleaned using a MOTH cleaning system prior to despatch. Not only does this wet clean/vacuuming process remove surface marks such as fingerprints, etc, it also significantly reduces background noise and many argue that the lower noise floor results in opening up of the sound and improved fidelity.

A word about hairline marks. It is almost impossible to find any non-sealed record without any hairline marks - many had them from new, particularly if sold with cardboard inner sleeves. They are a result of storage and use and have little impact on sound quality.

I package my records in the strongest purpose made mailers for maximum safety.

All records are removed from their picture sleeves where appropriate and posted in a separate plain white inner to avoid damage during transit.

The following is the scale I use to grade my records and is to be used in conjunction with the "Hi Res" photos contained in each listing , please buy with confidence.

MINT:

The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks

or deterioration in sound quality.

The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition.

Records advertised as sealed or un-played should be mint.

EXCELLENT:

The record shows some signs of having been played,

but there is very little lessening in sound quality.

The vinyl may have some hairline surface scuffs which will be only slightly visible.

The cover and packaging might have minor wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD:

The record has obviously been played many times,

but displays no major deterioration in sound quality,

despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.

Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items,

is acceptable.

GOOD:

The record has been played so much

that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated.

perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.

The cover suffers from folding, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
