 Probably the best album by YES and an essential album from every point of view!! Siberian Kathru is their most famous track here; instead the title track is the most complete mini-suite They have ever arranged (the intro by Steve Howe, well supported by such Wakeman's loop with birds, in his introduction emulating Stravinsky just a little bit, is fantastic). Then the leading theme of guitar stands alone and so much memorable like a few other themes by Steve Howe...of course the importance of this work -due to their search for perfection ("Chord of life",along with the sensible voice by Anderson, is another example), brings us to the edge of pleasure!! All these features make this album another must- have epic number (without forgetting the ballad "And you and I", containing the famous crescendo at the Cathedral Organ by Wakeman, along with such a great portamento at his Mini-Moog,being another essential number during their performances live!!)

Superb copy of this Prog classic. This is the original 1972 pressing. The textured gatefold sleeve is clean and crisp with a strong spine with all lettering fully legible, just a little storage wear here and there - VERY GOOD condition. The Vinyl retains a fantastic lustre and has hardly been played with NO scratches or blemishes. Plays superbly and has very little in the way of surface pops or crackles - NEAR MINT condition. The labels were slightly darker on the earlier pressings - these are in EXCELLENT condition with only a few light spindle marks and no writing or annotations. Early copies also came with the green inner sleeve which is present and correct here. If you want a vinyl copy, you'll do well to find a better one than this.

Grading Guide:

"MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler."
