Description
YA HO WHA 13 – I’m Gonna Take You Home. Victoria One VCTONE 230. Australian release. SEALED NEW VINYL RECORD ALBUM. Originally issued in 1974 on the Higher Key label as a 2-LP set (with short running sides). This is the reissue of the 1987 single LP Swordfish edition with the 2003 gatefold cover and issued in 2025 with the title on the spine listed as The Loves. Sometimes referred to as The Lovers, due to the front cover art. Comes in a gatefold cover with a clear outer mylar sleeve with resealable flap, as shipped by the label. This item ships as received.

DESCRIPTION: Los Angeles hippy commune group known as the Source Family, which began in 1969 by Father Yod (nee James Edward Baker) with the opening of his vegitarian Source Restaurant on Sunset Strip. In 1970, with his expanded following now known as the Source Family, they moved together into a Hollywood Hills mansion. The musical side became more a part of their practice in 1973. A mantra of tribal acid psych jam songs with some nice biting guitar and way out demented vocals. A very cosmic atmosphere. The old man pictured on the cover (whom I’m guessing, at this point, more or less guided this loose crew) ran a vegetarian restaurant and died in an August 1975 hang gliding accident off a cliff on the eastern shore of Oahu. This is the only recording I’ve heard (and have) by this group. As a performing group, their most active period was 1973-1977. Certainly takes on greater meaning if one is able to achieve a similar state of mind as the musicians who perform this; or you can take the stairs.

All LPs are removed from their jackets and placed outside of the jacket for shipping. If an album comes sealed (and will be noted as such in the above description), it will be shipped whole unless you request that I open it up to place the disc outside of the jacket for shipping. Both jacket and disc are placed inside of an outer plastic sleeve before packing for shipping. I use professional corrugated record mailers with inside packing.

NEW LP: This item is new and unplayed, but was received from a supplier without being shrink wrapped or cellophane wrapped; more common on imports but also many of the smaller independent US labels do not seal their LPs. These items are placed inside of a clear poly outer sleeve upon their receipt by me

MIX: This sometimes appears in my title line and refers to a group's/artist's music having a mix of styles such a rock track with jazz then followed by a straight rock track followed by a psych rock track, etc., as opposed to a blues album with the album's tracks having predominantly one style.
