Description

I purchased this box set over 25 years ago cuz I love listening to the Yardbirds and wouldn't you know it that because of all the rest of the music collection, I haven't even taken these records out of their sleeves yet. The box is Near Mint, all seven (7) records are in Near Mint condition and the 31 page booklet that comes with the box set is also Near Mint. The booklet itself is an awesome piece. It is full of pictures and press clippings from the mid-sixties. Here is an example for you, it has a list of the 1965 Gold Star Awards for various categories, keep in mind this is the UK. For "Lead Guitar" the number one guitarist was Hank Marvin (Huh?), oh yeah! down at number ten is a guy named Jimmy Page (LOL). The whole booklet is full of trivia like this. So, if you are looking for something that not everyone else has also and you would like it all to be in Near Mint condition, then this is the auction for you, the collector.

                                   AWESOME 31 PAGE BOOKLET

Value: This one's obviously another collectors' item as I have NEVER seen an entry an any price guide that looks anythings like this, which kinda makes it a one of a kind (or one of 250 whatever they published). If you like unusual items related to the Yardbirds, or to British Invasion or if you're a collector of Box Sets, then this obviously would be a great choice. A couple of weeks ago I sold my AEROSMITH 8 LP Box Set (another unusual item) for over $200. Now for Christmas, I am putting this box set at 50% of that Aerosmith Box Set for $109.49.

Synopsis: The Yardbirds are mostly known to the casual rock fan as the starting point for three of the greatest British rock guitarists: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. Undoubtedly, these three figures did much to shape the group's sound, but throughout their career, the Yardbirds were very much a unit, albeit a rather unstable one. And they were truly one of the great rock bands; one whose contributions went far beyond the scope of their half dozen or so mid-'60s hits ("For Your Love," "Heart Full of Soul," "Shapes of Things," "I'm a Man," "Over Under Sideways Down," "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago"). Not content to limit themselves to the R&B and blues covers they concentrated upon initially, they quickly branched out into moody, increasingly experimental pop/rock. The innovations of Clapton, Beck, and Page redefined the role of the guitar in rock music, breaking immense ground in the use of feedback, distortion, and amplification with finesse and breathtaking virtuosity. With the arguable exception of the Byrds, they did more than any other outfit to pioneer psychedelia, with an eclectic, risk-taking approach that laid the groundwork for much of the hard rock and progressive rock from the late '60s to the present.

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

My goal is to attain high customer satisfaction which will be achieved by selling products that are in at least NEAR MINT/VERY GOOD+ condition, along with using reasonable shipping costs. I won’t charge handling fees like some seller, but I will combine multiple wins to ensure that you get the optimal shipping cost. IF after you received your item and you have a problem PLEASE let me solve so that we can avoid possible unwarranted negative feedback. My only negative is from Member “dfwgent” and I never even shipped him an item (he was spiteful).

RETURNS

Items may be returned only if there is an error in the description. Any damage caused en-route must be resolved between the buyer and the Postal Service

SHIPPING

Please take note that in the shipping input section in eBay's that it will only allow a maximum postage amount of FOUR DOLLARS ($4.00). What that system does not take into account are situations where a lot (say five) of records are being sold OR one box set that has four records included will not be able to be shipped for that four dollars maximum postage. That being the case, I (and many other sellers) reflect the true shipping costs in the body of the item write-up, for me in this "SHIPPING" section.

Media Mail: $6.99 (7 LP's +)

Priority Mail: $18.99(7 LP's +)

Canada (1st Class International): $ 28.49 (> 4 lbs. 7 LP's +)

Europe, Asia, Australia, Etc. (1st Class International): Please inquire as to your postage, as it differ from country to country.

International Buyers, Please Read:

Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying. There is a $2.75 fee for the processing of International transactions as there is an extra trip to the post office for postage quotes, increased communications for direction of postage rate to use and the additional paperwork for shipping International. This fee must be paid with the product purchase.

PAYMENT

Winning bid, please pay by the FIFTH day following the auction close. PAYPAL is the preferred payment vehicle which allows a buyer to complete payment the day of the auction. which allows for expedited shipping., I will send you (the buyer) an invoice the day of the auction. That being the case, the invoice will default with “Media Mail”, if you want otherwise then please let me know immediately so that we don’t have to have invoices voided.

GRADING GUIDLINES

I do not use any “modified” versions of grading. I use the true tried and tested Goldmine grading system. There is no need to confuse buyers therefore I use the grading scale that has been successful for thirty years. Unless otherwise stated, our products are VISUALLY graded with the aid of a bright 150W light bulb. I grade VERY conservatively, in order to ensure that buyers are happy. All flaws worth noting to potential buyers (scratches, MINOR warps, cut out holes, saw marks, split cover seams, writing, etc.) will be listed in the item descriptions in an attempt to avoid any, and all, surprises. Keep in mind, or be aware, that many import picture sleeve 45’s had jackets that were different than the U.S. releases as they look like a jacket but do not have three sides glued together.

· M (Mint): unopened record or compact disc.

· NM (Near Mint); Vinyl that appears to have never been played. There are simply NO visible blemishes on the vinyl/disc or jacket/case

· VG++: Occasionally I will use this one if the item is NM, but I don’t feel comfortable grading it that way as there might be a small blemish on it.

· VG+ (or EX); Except for a few minor things, this would be Near Mint. This will show slight light signs of wear including light signs of scuff or scratches that DO NOT affects the listening experience. A VG+ cover might have some very minor seam wear or a split (less than ONE inch long)

· VG: More marks/scratches only minor, nothing deep, no loud clicks or pops. This type of material will not be sold by this seller. Groove wear and light scratches are evident. Surface noise is heard but it is not overwhelming. Minor writing, tape or stickers are visible.
