XIT Entrance: The Sound of Early XIT LP

Sleeve: Original textured cover in Near Mint condition under shrink, with only the slightest corner bumps.
Inner Sleeve: Original custom sleeve with several pictures of group members in Very Good + condition (a few small tears at top of pocket, and 2" seam split on right—otherwise in like new shape).
Disc: EX platter (visually and playgraded via my Technics SL-1350 with a high-quality cartridge & needle], with a tight spindle hole I had to gently push to get onto my deck when purchased, and I've only played it twice since (some light sleeve scuffs and manufacturing marks prohibit this from being Near Mint, but it's a very clean copy). ... A very nice copy of a hard to find album !
Original 1974 pressing on obscure Phoenix, AZ, label Canyon containing mostly unreleased on vinyl tracks from the later '60s iteration of New Mexico-based Native American psych legends Lincoln St. Exit, recorded prior to their cult cherished 1970 album on Mainstream Records. A few of these tracks were released on singles—"The Bummer" b/w "Sunny Sunday Dream" ECCO 1001 (the latter track, a total garage-psych monster, is included here); "Soulful Drifter" b/w "Time Has Come, Gonna Die" Mainstream 722 (the former is included here)—and have been used heavily on garage/psych compilations—though, the majority of the material on the LP was unissued in the period it was recorded. From the rollicking charge of "Half a Man" leading off the set, to the blissful psych-pop of "Orange Benevolence," this early version of the group brings to mind LA titans like LOVE and Strawberry Alarm Clock, making it no wonder that the album is highly-rated by Hans Pokora and The Acid Archives. The album has acquired a legend of its own, and for many it’s more desirable than the 1970 Lincoln St. Exit LP. The group later changed their name to XIT, who issued a few albums in the early '70s on the Motown subsidiary Rare Earth, and for some reason this LP was issued under that name (perhaps believing that was the more notable/bankable name in 1974).
