~~ Los Angeles - X took the LA music scene by storm in 1979 with their debut release - a rockabilly enthused punk record with dreamy vocals and simultaneously witty, poetic, and disturbing lyrics. Effectively, X started off the LA punk scene (despite never being involved with the more famous LA hardcore acts), and showed the world that punk spirit could be found underneath the world's perception of sunny-by-day glitzy-by-night California.

Although never commercially successful, X were critically acclaimed and admired by many in the scene, as this record attests. The original line-up consisted of Exene Cervenka (vocals), John Doe (bass, back-up vocals), Billy Zoom (guitar), and D.J. Bonebrake (drums)..
