Description

An original 1st press of Woodstock on UK Atlantic. Matrix 1/1/1/1/1/1 - 1st cut. Worth insisting on the earliest copies as the cover is heavy-duty and the vinyl is super heavy pressed. The vinyl comes housed in an original TRIPLE fold-out gatefold printed by E J DAY.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection expect a couple of light marks - nothing heavy or sinister looking. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly, but not exclusively, EXCELLENT level of playback just a couple of deviations per side. When on song this is a very fine rendition. I'm always quite surprised how good the recording is given the proportions of the gig! Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. R1S2 - bit of light static in "Joe Hill" & a couple of ticks in a couple of spots. R1S1 - bit of crackle in track 1 [I Had A Dream]......setting those issues aside expect the rest of the LP to be absolute knock-out. Want to hear the crickets at Woodstock..? You're gonna need a great copy. The stage announcements alone are worth the price!
Cover (Vg+) A beast of a cover and is super solid. A pretty clean front and rear - very little surface wear observable. The interior is in excellent order. That image across the three panels still boggles the mind.. wowzers. Edge wear is relatively light and not obtrusive. The spine is in great order with all text legible. Just a bit of slight curving up at one end - i.e. not totally flat. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity in part thanks to the heavy card employed.
