Description

THE BEATLES - 'WITH THE BEATLES'

1963 UK MONO PRESSING LP

This EXCELLENT copy appears at first glance to be a regular 1st pressing, as indicated by the 'Jobete' publishing credit for the song 'Money' on the side 2 label. This label would normally match up to -1N/-1N matrices in both run-outs. However, this extremely rare variant has -7N/-7N matrices usually found on later/2nd pressings with the 'Dominion. Belinda' publishing credit for the same song.

This copy bears the familiar yellow & black Parlophone label with the catalogue number: PMC 1206

Both omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but carry 'The Parlophone Co. Ltd..' worded rims.

The publishing credit on the side 2 label for song 'Money' is 'Jobete Mus. NCB.'

Track 3 title on side 2 is incorrectly spelt as: 'You Really Got A Hold On Me'

A faint 'KT' purchase tax code is visible around the side 2 centre.

Matrix numbers: XEX 447-7N & XEX 448-7N

Stamper codes: 3,9/GMG & 2,6/GMP

Vinyl weight: 164g

Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed large mono logo cover.

The rear track listing also misspells track 3 on side 2 as 'You Really Gotta Hold On Me'.

Complete with its original 'Use Emitex..' poly-lined inner-sleeve.

CONDITION

Disc

Labels: EXCELLENT

A bright, unblemished pair with a small scratch to the top of the side 1 label and a small collection of spindle trails around each centre hole.

Visual: EXCELLENT

Both playing surfaces of this desirable variant are perfectly clean & retain 100% of their 'as new' deep-gloss shines with no dulling or clouding to either surface. Careful inspection in strong daylight shows up just a few harmless faint surface marks but nothing I would call a scratch. Further close examination directly beneath my unforgiving halogen light reveals just some harmless wispy inner-sleeve removal hairlines but no other significant blemishes or wear. Both sides of this quality, heavy copy lie 100% flat both sides when playing.

Play: EXCELLENT

This well looked-after copy has received just some very careful play as my single play-check at volume found there to be no significant deterioration to the sound quality throughout. The only trace of wear I picked out was some light playwear distortion onthe final tracks or each side, but apart from that, there was little else to fault. Even the exposed 'Til There Was You' played cleanly & clearly and without any background noise. Both run-ins and all bands played without interference and there were no clicks, pops or any other audible distractions anywhere.

Cover

EXCELLENT

A highly respectable example of this easily blemished cover which bears a clean, glossy and unyellowed front panel laminate with just a small bend to the lower right corner and some tiny spine wrinkles but no 'thumbnails' or any other significant signs of wear. There is slight bruising to the left corners but both opening edges are clean, sharp & unworn. The rear panel is clean, white & unblemished and all flipbacks are clean and in-place. Both seams & the fully worded spine are all smooth, unstressed and undamaged.

Inner-sleeve

EXCELLENT

Clean & flat with jsut a few minor storage ceases but no writing, seam splits or tears.
