THE BEATLES
'WITH THE BEATLES'
A very hard to find variant on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3045
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Parlophone Co. Ltd..' rims.
This edition bears the rarer 'Dominion. Belinda (Ldn.) Ltd....NCB publishing credit for 'Money'.
The label also features the corrected 'You Really Got A Hold On Me' spelling.
A faint 'KT' tax/price code is visible in the centre of the side 2 label.
Housed in an early front laminated, tri-flipback large stereo logo cover with the darker front image.
The rear track-listing bears the 'You Really Gotta Hold On Me' spelling.
Complete with it original 'Use Emitex' poly-lined inner-sleeve.
This copy also comes with its genuine plastic cover from Brian Epstein's 'NEMS' record store in Liverpool.
Matrix numbers: YEX 110-2 & YEX 111-2
Stamper numbers: 2/H & 1/GD
Disc weight: 155g
CONDITION
Disc
Labels: VERY GOOD +
Clean & bright with some minor wear to the centre hole and a stylus scratch on label 1 but no writing or other faults.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Both surfaces of this rare disc retain all of their 'as new' deep-gloss shines and apart from two faint fingernail scuff lines, are unmarked in strong daylight. Close & careful inspection directly under my powerful halogen light reveals a few insignificant wispy paper hairlines but no additional marks or any scratches. Both sides lie 100% flat on the turntable with no signs of dishing or warping.
Play: EXCELLENT -
This respectable sounding copy has received frequent but careful play and there is no major deterioration to the sound quality throughout. All tracks play cleanly and warmly with just a hint or light wear to the vocal channel, but not enough, in my opinion, to spoil the listening enjoyment. Both run-ins and all bands play quietly and without interference and there are no clicks, ticks or pops to be found anywhere.
Cover
VERY GOOD -
A generally clean & intact example with a clean & bright front panel which displays a few tiny spots on the white banner but no heavy creasing, marks or other significant signs of wear. Ther lower corners and opening edges have some moderate wear but there are no missing sections or heavy bumps. The rear panel has general handling wear and a written name but no missing paper. There is a small 2cm split to the upper seam but the lower one and the spine are undamaged.
NEMS plastic cover
VERY GOOD
Clean & fully intact with just inevitable light storage wrinkling and a small hole just to the left of the address banner but no further major problems.
Inner-sleeve
VERY GOOD +
Clean & white with just general storagewear creasing but no major faults.
- Strict & grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
- I carefully play every record I sell on a $5,000 Rega P9 turntable at volume and list all visual and audible faults.
- All the photos in this listing have been taken by myself and are of the actual items for sale.
