Witches Brew - Alexander Gibson UK RCA Stereo 1958 SB2020 VG+/Ex
I’m re-listing this record as a closer listen revealed a small amount of surface noise after I put it up for sale - by then there was a bid so I couldn’t alter the text.
The record is amazingly well preserved for a first UK stereo press copy of this much sought after 1958 compilation.
Vinyl is VG+ with no visible scratches or hairlines. It plays beautifully with great dynamic range with a few age-related pops but the listening experience for such frequently quiet orchestration is excellent.
The reason I’ve marked it as VG+ rather than Ex is that there is some surface noise during the last 2 minutes of the Mussorgsky track at the end of Side 1 followed by 4 clicks at the very end. It may just need a clean with an Okki Nokki machine.
Labels have one feint spindle mark but otherwise pristine.
The sleeve and inner are both almost flawless- probably it’s been kept in a plastic wallet. There is one slightly worn corner (see pic)
