Description
Rca Lsc 2225 in Living Stereo in its first issue. The centerpiece of this lp for me is the Overture to Tam O'Shanter by the Oscar winning composer Malcolm Arnold. It is a work rich in color and is the only 2oth century work on this album of Halloween inspired pieces. Also include Mussorgsky's Gnomus from Pictures at an Exhibition and A night on BAre Mountain, Saint Saens' Danse MAcabre, Humperdinck's Witches' Ride and Liszt's Mephisto Waltz.
The jacket has a two inch split along its top edge at the jacket's opening. Overall the edges has a few small areas of rub. The cover gloss has some moderate rub on its mostly black background. The rear has some age creaming with some minor ring wear. The lp has a nearly flawless visually side 2 appearance with lighter periodic crackles or pops. Side 1 with the Arnold work has three apparent but sonically superficial marks. The Arnold work is so boisterous, its hard to hear any wear. Wear overall is light with light periodic crackle or pops, none repeating or constant. the sonics on this lp are amazing which is probably why this was reissued on cd later. At this listing, there is only one more original issue of this lp on ebay. I have judged it very critically because of its collectibility. Bid with confidence.
