Description

Willie Nelson's 'Red Headed Stranger' was originally released in May of 1975 and turned him into one of Country Music's biggest stars.  Curiously,  the multi-platinum selling album could have been shelved if not for Nelson having complete creative control.  That's because Columbia Record executives thought it sounded to sparse and incomplete almost like a demo and asked Nelson to re-record it. Nelson said "No" ....because that was his intention to have it sound more "raw" ...more "real". Luckily for millions of Willie Nelson fans it did get released as it was originally recorded.  Not only that, it got the audiophile treatment in 1980.  CBS Records released it as part of their Half-Speed Mastered pressing series and the audio has a vibe and "texture" that rarely gets transferred during the mastering process.  Beautiful sounding record.
