Wild Man Fischer

"An Evening With Wild Man Fischer" 2XLP

This is an original copy of Wild Man Fischer's highly sought after debut double album. Released in 1968 on Bizarre/Reprise Records (2RS6332), it's a true classic in the "Outsider Music" genre. Features production from Frank Zappa, who also contributes some great acid-fuzz guitar to a few tracks. Also includes an hilarious spontaneous rant/poem from Kim Fowley and Rodney Bingenheimer. Housed in a gatefold sleeve and complete with the original inner sleeves (w/coupons for the Bizarre Records compilation album "Zapped"). Great bio on the back cover reads: "Wild Man Fischer is a real person who lives in Hollywood, California. He used to be very shy. He didn't have any friends. One day he decided to be more aggressive. He would write his own songs and sing to people and tell them he wasn't shy anymore. When he did this, everyone thought he was crazy. His mother had him committed to a mental institution twice." Includes liner notes by Zappa on the inside gatefold, and features a great back cover photo of Wild Man performing with The Mothers. The ensuing sad story has this record quickly disappearing after release due to Wild Man's quarreling with Zappa, and the Zappa family being frightened and wanting nothing to do with the record or the artist. Entire package is in great shape!

Jacket: EX-; some ringwear scuffing on front and back, some scuffing/wear along top and bottom spines, owner's name in black marker in bottom right corner. Inner sleeves are super clean and 100% intact.
Vinyl: EX+; super clean and bright! Looks almost unplayed except for a light surface mark across side 1 (does not affect play) TRACKS - SEE PICS BELOW
