Description
WHITE ZOMBIE
PSYCHO-HEAD BLOWOUT 12” EP
+ BONUS
Up for bid is the incredibly rare Psycho-head Blowout 12-inch 33rpm EP, which is the third release by the legendary White Zombie on their Silent Explosion Records label in May of 1987 and was limited to a pressing of 1000 copies. All copies were sold. The vinyl is in mint- condition and looks like it has never been played. I could not even find a fingerprint. The jacket and original inner sleeve are also in mint- condition, with no scratches, tears, rips, bangs, or bends. It includes a copy of the insert that originally came with the record that had an order form for the Pig Heaven single, T-shirts, and gig flyers. All pictures are of the actual items being auctioned.
In an issue of Spin Magazine, Kurt Cobain pointed to this album as being one of his favorite EPs and an influence to him. This album gives us a real understanding of what Rob is capable of in his art. The detail on the rear cover is outstanding. Also, there are "behind-the-scenes" type noises and vocal tracks that are the fledglings for the upcoming La Sexorcisto, however there are not any horror movie samples in the music yet.
Etched on side A, near the center is; "How's things in the pimp business?" and on side B "I don't know nobody named Iris". Both of these quotes are from the motion picture Taxi Driver staring Robert DeNiro. The quote is the part in the movie where he fails the assassination attempt, and then goes after Iris's (Jody Foster) pimp.
This record is part of my personal music collection and it is in mint condition. A true collectible destined to appreciate in value. Don’t let this one get away !
ALSO, as a special bonus, I will include for the winning bidder a copy of the record on CD containing the complete track listing from the EP.
Track listing:
1) Eighty Eight ( 4:04)
2) Fast Jungle (4:24)
3) Gun Crazy (4:29)
4) Kick (4:08)
5) Memphis (3:37)
6) Magdelene (4:12)
7) True Crime (4:50)
Band Members:
Rob Straker - vocals, lyricist, art direction
Sean Yseult - bass
Tom Guay - guitar
Ivan DePrume - drums
As with all of the early White Zombie vinyl records, this is a collectible that should go up in value with time, as it has in the past. Add it to your collection and enjoy record collecting as an excellent investment! If you are looking for something not listed, chances are that I’ve got it, but haven’t gotten around to listing it yet, so contact me.
Thanks for looking and good luck bidding !!!
