Description
Hi everyone, Welcome to my auction. I have decided to sell my Beatles White. I was given this by a lifelong friend who started his career as the music journalist for our local paper. He told me back in late 68 that he was being sent the White Album to review and as a big Beatles' fan he said I could have it after we'd reviewed it. And I have owned it ever since. It has travelled with me to many destinations but I haven't played it since the advent of CDs around 35 years ago. Both cover and albums have been well used so if you're after a mint one read no further. The cover is well used with damage to the top of the right hand opening sleeve and the bottom of the spine. Both albums have more scratches than I have active brain cells but it has given me years of enjoyable listening. I have played it through and lots of background noise and a few tracks were sticking but adjustment of the tone arm has helped considerably. The worst offender is Yer Blues but each time I have played it at least a couple play up, but often sorted by adjustment. It might help considerably if it was played on a top notch set up. I must repeat this is not an item for someone wishing to pay 3 grand for a minter but it is as honest as you could get. The labels are fine but I simply cannot recall why the name Buxton is written on both labels. I just can't remember. Both black liners have damage. One minor, the other slightly worse. Comes with the poster and 4 individual photos which have some minor creasing. Any questions please ask. The auction will run to the end. Side 1 XEX 709-1 Side 2 XEX 710-1 Side 3 XEX 711-1 Side 4 XEX 712-1 Other stampings HL,HH,LM,GDP. All the details on the record labels which show first pressing are on the photographed labels. It might be possible for any prospective buyer to come and listen. Let me know.
Just a few lines to say I have been very critical and harsh about the condition of the records. Have played it through quite a few times now and it is still very easy on the ear and sometimes all 4 sides will play through without any sticking. But mostly a track or two will show some hesitancy. I think it always is best to be brutally honest about one's items and then nobody is disappointed. Happy bidding.
