  • Label: Nasco 9003, US 1970       
  • Zustand: 
    Record: vg+ (most is mint-, but has one bad mark on A 1, which is only slightly audible - looks like the record fell down and hit something) 
    Cover: vg++ (corners a bit dented/worn)

    Back in the late sixties and early seventies, when concert-going was a very cool and different experience than it is today, there were some dynamite progressive rock groups in the Ohio area that should have been BIG. One of them was Whalefeathers from Cincinnati. I was fortunate enough to catch them a few times live. Whalefeathers had it all, very skillful chops, extremely adventurous jamming, deft and complex arrangements, very visceral and cerebral compositions and arrangements of covers. I am listening to the vinyl LP which my sister bought in 1971 as I write this. It's too bad they didn't make it big. Their sound was somewhat as cross between Cream, Deep Purple and The Allman Brothers, but really even more adventurous.

I have just played A 1 - there is faint crackling here + there, but no noisy pops or worse...  Sounds much better, than the mark looks !
Also: As it is a local pressing, it overall tends to be a bit noisier ...
