Westminster Records stereo two disc boxed set WST 204, first black label discs with red logo, pressed in the US.
Ravel, Daphnis et Chloe, complete ballet, on three sides. Side four contains the Alborado del Grazioso and the Tombeau de Couperin. Manuel Rosenthal conducts the Orchestra of the National Opera of Paris.
A fantastic sounding recording of a great performance. Spreading Daphnis et Chloe out over three sides makes a big difference in sound quality. Interesting piece of trivia is that the Munch/Boston Symphony recording of Daphnis on RCA was planned to be on a two disc set like this, but they changed their minds and put it on one disc. This set is fairly hard to find, as Westminster squeezed Daphnis onto one disc after a short time.
