Description
For sale is Weather Report's Black Market, released in 1976 by Columbia Records with a textured canvass-like cover. It is the first pressing and features Wayne Shorter, Joseph Zawinul, Alphonso Johnson, Chester Thompson, Jaco Pastorius, Alejandro Acuna, Narada Michael Walden and Don Elias. In the dead wax between the last track and the label are matrix #'s 1-C/1-D followed by the Quiex symbol, signifying that this is an early pressing on the quietest vinyl. I bought this new and played it carefully on a reference quality turntable and cartridge. One of the first things I do with a new purchase is that I immediately put the album into a protective inner sleeve like a MFSL or its equivalent. Doing this protects the integrity of the original inner sleeve. The included inner sleeve is Near Mint. The cover is Near Mint. The spine is Near Mint. This is one of the best copies that I have ever heard or seen and you would be hard pressed to find a better one. The vinyl is Near Mint. I have more jazz albums, as well as records of all genres in my Ebay store. Please take a look, as they're all in Near Mint condition. Thank you for viewing my listing. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
