Description
This is a 1966 pressing of Wayne Shorter's classic Speak No Evil. It has the original NY USA labels but lacks the Plastylite Ear.
Sleeve Condition (VG+) The sleeve is in solid VG+ condition with minimal wear to the front. There is some seem wear to the top and bottom (pictured) but no structural splitting. Note, the cover is identical (color, paper thickness, etc.) to the 1st pressing copy which I recently acquired.
Vinyl Condition (VG+ / VG) Side 1 - Plays great with clear and powerful sound throughout. There is occasional light surface noise in quiet passages, but nothing that seems to be caused by any visible surface blemishes. There are some superficial marks (paper scuffs and hairlines) but none that you can feel with a fingernail. Overall I would give it a VG+.
Side 2 - Plays good with clear and strong sound, but there is more light surface noise present than side 1, particularly in the last two tracks (which are very quiet. Note, the noise does not overpower. There are a number of paper scuffs and hairlines but again, none that can be felt with a fingernail. No deep scratches. Overall I would this side a VG.
I'm a serious collector of classic jazz records and am starting to sell some of my collection where I have duplicate copies of records. I consider myself a conservative grader as most of the records I'm selling are being listed a grade down from where they were sold to me.
