NOTE: "Speak No Evil was one of several albums Shorter recorded for Blue Note in 1964, his first year as a member of Miles Davis's mid-1960s quintet. The album is generally regarded as one of Shorter's finest, and also a highlight of the Blue Note catalogue. The Penguin Guide to Jazz selected this album as part of its suggested "Core Collection" calling it "by far Shorter's most satisfying record". Murray Horwitz stated in 2001 that "Speak No Evil is sort of a consolidation of Wayne Shorter's compositional excellence. It's so thorough and consistent and wide-ranging. It's almost a manifesto for his ideas. Those ideas were new 57 years ago, but they're still fresh today".
SIDE 1 and 2: Very Good Plus (VG++) few visual hairlines and small scuffs on both sides Some of the luster remains, labels are mostly clean. There are some very light backgrounds noise occasionally during playback with bold audio. Majority of background noise will be heard during quiet passes, in between tracks, and on intro and dead waxes. both sides of the record play through beautifully with no skips, Pop, or cracked
CONDITION OF SLEEVE: Very Good (VG) Some creases and light scrape marks around cover art from handling, corner bends. All spines are mostly 70% intact, Writing in the back. But the artwork is still attractive.
