Watts LOCKE SAINTS High School Band 2-LP Rare Private Press Reggie Andrews Funk
?Original pressing double album in gatefold cover. Cover grades VG with edgewear and short seam splits. Vinyl grade disc one is EX excellent and plays excellent. Disc 2 grades VG+ with some light surface scuffs (mostly side 3) but no feelable scratches. It did play with some noticeable but not overwhelming crackling noise, a few medium pops and one quick skip forward (not a stick). All 4 labels are clean and unmarred by any writing or spindle wear.
The Locke Saints Band out of Watts, California created Deep Jazz mixed with Soul & Heavy Funk. Similar to The Kashmere Stage Band albums, young talent is highlighted under direction of veteran producer Reggie Andrews.
This 1978-79 Locke Saints album is considered the holy grail of School-Funk albums. This is a very rare private press 2LP release, almost impossible to find.
