Description

Presentation box set of Richard Wagner's Ring Cycle - Der Ring des Nibelungen. Recorded over a number of years from 1959 to 1968 by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Georg Solti, Box is very substantial and is divided into 5 compartments - Das Rheingold with 3 LPs; Gotterdammerung with 6 LPs; Siegfreid with 5 LPs; Die Walkure with 5 LPs and the final section is 3 LPs containing a comprehensive guide to the leitmotifs of The Ring plus 2 of Wagner's less well-known pieces. Each section is accompanied by a large booklet containing the libretto, artists' biographies, a synopsis, pencil illustrations and some pictures. The set appears to have been hardly used or playe dand all the LPs are without scratches. Sleeves are undamaged and bright. A beautiful item that weighs 11 kg.
