Description
Wagner Parsifal Bayreuth Knappertsbusch Decca LXT
George London, Van Mill, Windgassen, Modl, and others with the Bayreuth Orchestra and Chorus conducted by Hans Knappertsbusch perform Wagner’s "Parsifal", recorded at Bayreuth in 1951. A six record set, this is an English mono pressing on the Decca Label (LXT 2651-56). The labels are dark brown with gold lettering with a picture of the Festival House, and these are "pancake" pressings. Side three has 3 tiny pressing dimples that cause a few clicks and crackle, and there is a hair pressed into the vinyl on side 7 that thumps softly for a minute or so with some clicks. Otherwise the records are in very good condition with greyish "rub" and small marks, and they play and sound superb with consistent low-level surface noise. The covers have some minor wear. Payment by credit card, cash, or Paypal is preferred –direct debit available to Australian buyers. Postage by Standard Airmail (7 to 10 days) to the U.S. or Asia is $19.00 - slightly more to Europe and elsewhere. Add $2.50 only for each additional record purchased from my auction.
