Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 albums that I have collected over a period of more than 45 years! and only been played a handful of  times ever! I am an avid collector of  the MCA label variations for the Wishbone Ash UK albums and I own all of the variations that I know of, there are quite a few. This is the black label variation 2nd UK issue on the black MCA labels.

Wishbone Ash are a British rock band who achieved particular success in the early and mid-1970s.

Formed in My home town of Devon in 1969 out of the ashes of the group The Empty Vessels, which had featured Wishbone Ash's founding members Martin Turner and Steve Upton, the original line-up was completed by Andy Powell and Ted Turner.!

  Pilgrimage is the second studio album by the rock band Wishbone Ash. The album focuses more on folk and acoustic music as opposed to the blues rock sound that dominated the first album.

The album also contains an instrumental jazz workout ("Vas Dis") and a four-part harmony vocal track in the spirit of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young ("Valediction").

The album sold well, reaching no.14 in the UK charts, but the band would reach their creative and commercial peak with their next studio release, Argus.

The Vinyl

This is the original heavier and deeper grooved type of vinyl. On visual inspection this looks superbe! Any marks that could possibly be seen in strong light would only be light whispy sleeve removal scuffs/marks! (Nothing that would cause any constant clicks or pops)

The Audio Quality

I have play tested this awesome looking vinyl at very loud volume on a top system (two times) prior to listing! This audio is absolutely superb throughout. Stunning audio seperation, Rich bassey feel only found like this on the earliest pressings with the earliest stampers! No  loud constant clicks or pops and certainly no distortion at all!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd static(not consistant throughout the audio) This is a genuine vinyl (not a reissue) that is 46 years old and would have originally been played on a 46 year old system! In my opinion this will produce the very top audio throughout!!

The labels

These feature the original Black 'MCA' labels (only early press 2nd label variation for this pressing) in awesome condition. Just a handfull of spider traces can be seen around the spindle hole if looked for! This vinyl has obviously barely been played in my opinion., (no) spindle ware the hole is perfectly round!

The cover

This is the original 1st issue ''Robert Stace'' Unlaminated gatefold cover! with (no) splits or tares (NO) splits or tares. No real nasty creases to talk of, amaizingly (no) nasty storage ware to the corners at all! (no) writing or nasty names! Strong and straight! this is the original so hard to find in this condition after 46 years!! I would grade this at least excellent plus to near mint in my opinion!

The record sleeve

The original poly lined DECCA STEREO sleeve (Correct for this issue) has just very few creasings/staining/fading with age only (no) splits or tares and is stored seperastely from the vinyl!
