Pilgrimage is the second album by legendary rock band Wishbone Ash. The album focuses more on folk and acoustic music as opposed to the blues rock sound that dominated the first album. The album also contains an instrumental jazz workout ("Vas Dis") and a four-part harmony vocal track in the spirit of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young ("Valediction")!!!.

The album sold well, reaching no.14 in the UK charts, but the band would reach their creative and commercial peak with their next release!!!.

Rare black MCA label variation! and superbe top! audio throughout! very very collectable and sought after like this!!

The vinyl

On initial inspection this looks like new!! Super thick and chunky type of vinyl only found on earliest pressings! This lays perfectly flat on the turntable and indeed gleems like a peice of glass!

 Still retains its original sheen from new! and in my opinion still looks as new! Only in strong light can possibly any sleeve removal surface marks be seen absolutely non audio sounding! I have played this through track for track prior to listing! The audio is rated at the very top on all frequencies! it is awesome!, one of the best yet! (no) distortion or any signs of any grooveware at all! I heard (no) clicks or pops and more importantly i heard no background noise so common on these early pressings! This plays through as near perfect as it could ever sound in my opinion! Please look at my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right!  ONE OF THE BEST THAT I HAVE HEARD OF THIS PRESSING! I REALLY CRANKED UP THE VOLUME,, ABSOLUTELY TOP! AWESOME ON ALL FREQUENCIES!! THIS WILL BE HARD TO SURPASS!!!!

Please note I always add this disclaimer!Please allow for the odd static (not) consistant throughout the audio! Please remember that this is a genuine 37 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 37 year old system! In my opinion this plays as good as new!!!! 

You will be hard pressed to find a better sounding and looking original!

The Cover

This is the original unlaminated  ROBERT STACE gatefold cover in superbe condition I would say AS NEW CONDITION throughout! AMAIZINGLY With no real creases to talk of! Barely a hint of any ringware at the rear of the cover in the form of very,very (very) light rubbing indeed and minor at the edges if looked for! This is strong and straight and the original! 37 years old and still a top example!!VERY VERY NEAR PERFECT IN MY OPINION!!

The record Sleeve

This is the original poly lined Decca 'Stereo' sleeve! light creasing becoming fragile with age no splits or tares at the edges! The original!
