After recording Band on the Run as a three-piece with wife Linda and guitarist Denny Laine, McCartney added Jimmy McCulloch on lead guitar and Geoff Britton on drums to the Wings lineup in 1974. Having written several new songs for the next album, McCartney decided upon New Orleans, Louisiana as the recording venue, and Wings headed there in January 1975.
As soon as the sessions began, the personality clash that had been evident between McCulloch and Britton during Wings' 1974 sessions in Nashville became more pronounced, and Britton — after a mere six month stay — quit Wings, having only played on three of the new songs. A replacement, American Joe English, was quickly auditioned and hired to finish the album.
The sessions themselves proved to be very productive, not only finishing the entire album, but also several additional songs including two future McCartney B-sides: "Lunch Box/Odd Sox" and "My Carnival".
McCartney also decided to link the songs together much like The Beatles had on Abbey Road to give the album a more continuous, coherent feel.

LABELS: Clean, bright and unmarked with no spindle traces or signs of play - this is a beautiful, possibly completely unplayed copy
VINYL Visual: The vinyl surfaces retain their original deep, like-new glossy sheen and are unmarked - beautiful record
VINYL Audio: The audio is absolutely sensational throughout with a crystal clear, strong and vibrant sound. Unbeatable depth and clarity on these first presses with a very impressive loud and powerful cut. The tracks segue together beautifully and on playback at a loud volume there are no scratches, no sticks, no jumps, no clicks or pops and no surface noise. The album plays throughout to the highest possible standard with no groove-wear, no distortion (it's possibly unplayed), sounds stunning and is critically graded MINT for audio - fantastic copy with beautifully clean audio - practically silent on the run-ins and track divisions (what there are) - as good as it gets - fantastic copy
SLEEVE: The heavy-duty, matt, 'Hipgnosis' gatefold cover is in NEAR MINT condition - clean and unmarked with crisp, sharp edges and a solid spine where all text is clear and bold and just a little storage rubbing to the surfaces preventing a full MINT grading
INNER: The original inner with square cut corners is clean, bright and fresh but has a central split to the bottom edge (5 cms) otherwise, it's in great condition. (The record is now housed - and will be posted in - a new inner sleeve to avoid anymore 'knifing' damage to the original during transit) - EXCELLENT
POSTERS: The two large (29" x 20") posters are MINT - untouched, unmarked and unmounted - I don't think they have ever even been opened out before I took the photos
STICKERS: The two Stickers are both in their original unused, un-pealed state - the round one is MINT, the bookmark sticker has a light creases to the top edge and is EXCELLENT++
