WILD AT HEART (CORAZON SALVAJE) OST - DAVID LYNCH - RARE ARGENTINIAN PRESSING. WHEN I SAY RARE, IT'S NOT EVEN LISTED ON DISCOGS (THE CLOSEST IS A BRAZILLIAN PRESSING), SO PRETTY RARE IF THEY'VE NEVER HAD A COPY REGISTERED. AND A GREAT ALBUM TO BOOT.
Soundtrack to David Lynch's movie "Wild at Heart", starring Nicolas Cage, Laura Dern, William Dafoe, Crispin Glover, Diane Ladd, Isabella Rossellini and Harry Dean Stanton.
The movie won the Golden Palm at Cannes Film Festival 1990 and was also nominated for the Oscar.
It seems so far away that there was a time where a soundtrack that mixed actual movie music cues with different songs was a best selling one. But it was, and this was played by teenagers and moms, maybe skipping one track or two. It was also the time where Angelo Badalamenti took the jazzy smokey sound so characteristically his and made everyone copy it - there is a spectacular use of it on the Koko Taylor sang "Up in flames", which ties to trip hop and almost melts the album, your headphones and the entire room where it is playing with those glissandos. Lynch also shows how an excellent selector he is: that version of Smoke Rings is as magical as the Jobim version of Insensatez he took for Lost Highway. All in all I am very nostalgic for the times that a movie as bonkers as Wild at Heart was mainstream.
