Description
Absolutely lovely copy of the rare true original 1954 first pressing of the soundtrack of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, and Peggy Lee, on Decca mono LP DL-8083. This is the true earliest pressing on the “Unbreakable” Microgroove label. Very rare copy! And in rare condition. The disc is very nearly pristine and plays flawlessly and just beautifully. A few superficial marks from the plastic sleeve it has been stored in, but it isn’t damage at all. Maybe the tiniest wispy scuff or two, but barely even that. Just a stunning disc, easily the best I have ever seen. The cover has a seam split about halfway across the top from the right to the center, and then more splitting on the top left and down the spine about halfway. The top seam is held together by just a small bit. The bottom right is also splitting but only about 1”. I of course keep the disc outside the cover to prevent further splitting. Still nicely intact and quite nice looking! There is also a sticker at the upper left, but maybe you can remove it. It has clearly been there a long time so maybe it’s best to just keep it there. Anyhow despite the seam splits the cover looks quite nice, with bright and clean artwork. Really a top original copy, so so hard to find at all, but especially with such a beautiful disc! Merry Christmas!
