Description
This auction is a lot sale of SIX Classical Records released by WESTMINSTER RECORDS in 1950. The covers are generic red with a paste on label of the contents. The Covers and Vinyl are all in really great shape and grade from VG++ to EXCELLENT. Titles, Artists, Condition and other specs are as follows:
1. MOZART SERENADE No 5, K 204 & SYMPHONY No 22, K 162 / VIENNA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA conducted by HENRY SWOBODA / WESTMINSTER WL 50-5 / USA 1950. Condition of Cover is Excellent with no seam splits, no promo holes, no writting, slight ring wear or age marks and slight corner dings. Cover is the thick cardboard style and does show some age discoloration on top seam...but nothing bad. Condition of Vinyl is Excellent with plenty of gloss and shine...slight paper scuffs visible in bright light...play graded at VG+ with very light background mostly audible in quite parts...labels are clean of writting and have light spindle wear...vinyl is the thick type from the '50s.
2. MOZART CONCERTONE, C MAJOR, K 190 FOR TWO VIOLINS AND ORCHESTRA & SYMPHONY No 23, D MAJOR, K 181 / VIENNA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA conducted by HENRY SWOBODA / WESTMINSTER WL 50-13 / USA 1950. Condition of Cover is Excellent shape with no seam splits, no promo holes, almost no ring wear and no writting...firm corners and really no discoloration. Condition of Vinyl is VG+ with slight paper scuffs and plenty of gloss...play graded at VG+ with slight background mostly audible in quite parts...no jumps, skips or pops. Labels are clean of writting and have slight spindle wear.
3. ZOLTAN KODALY / TE DEUM, Vienna Symphony Orchestra with the Wiener Choir conducted by Henry Swoboda (Soloists from the Vienna State Opera = Sena JURINAC, Soprano - Sieglinde WAGNER, Alto - Rudolf CHRIST, Tenor - Alfred POELL, Bass) & THEATRE OVERTURE / Vienna Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Henry Swoboda // WESTMINSTER WL 50-1 / USA 1950. Condition of Cover is Excellent with no seam splits to thick cardboard, no writting, little ring wear and age marks, firm corners and no promo holes. Condition of Vinyl is VG++ with plenty of gloss and shine and light paper scuff marks...play graded at VG+ with some light background mostly audible in quite parts. Labels are clean of writting and have little spindle wear.
4. LUIGI BOCCHERINI / Symphony in A Major (Vienna Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Henry Swoboda) & JOSEF HAYDN / Octet in F Major / Vienna Philharmonic Wind Group / (Blaservereinigung der Wiener Philharmoniker / 2 Oboes - 2 Clarinets - 2 Bassoons - 2 Horns) // WESTMINSTER WL 50-2 / USA 1950. Condition of thick cardboard cover is Excellent with no seam splits, no promo holes, no ring wear, no writting but a small bend in upper right corner - all other corners are firm and clean. Condition of Vinyl is Excellent with plenty of gloss and shine...light paper scuffs...play graded at Excellent with very light background sounds...labels are clean of writting and have little spindle wear.
5. MOZART / QUINTET FOR STRINGS IN E FLAT K 614 / Vienna Knozerthaus Quintet (VL1= Anton Kemper, VL2= Carl Maria Titze, VLA1= Erich Weiss, VLA2= Ferdinand Stangler, Cello = Franz Kvarda) & QUINTET FOR PIANO AND WINDS IN E FLAT K 452 / Vienna Philharmonic Wind Group (Piano: Roland Raupenstrauch, Oboe: Hans Kamesch, Clarinet: Leopold Wlach, Horn: Gottfried Freiberg, Bassoon: Karl Ohlberger) // WESTMINSTER WL 50-7 / USA 1950. Condition of Cover is Excellent with no seam splits, no promo holes, no writting, very light ring wear and edge discoloration with very light corner dings. Condition of Vinyl is VG++ with plenty of gloss and shine and light paper scuffs. Play graded at VG+ with slight background most audible in quite parts...no jumps or skips...very nice listen. Labels are clean of writting and have light spindle wear.
6. JOHANNES BRAHMS (1833-1897) / MARIENLIEDER Op 22 (7 Songs For 4-part Mixed Chorus) & FOUR SONGS FOR WOMEN'S VOICES OP 17 (with 2 Horns and Harp) ...conductor for both sides is Dr. Reinhold Schmid // WESTMINSTER WL 50-14 / USA 1950. Condition of Cover is Excellent with no seam splits, no promo holes, no writting, no ring wear and light corner dings. Condition of Vinyl is VG++ with plenty of gloss and shine with slight paper scuff marks...play graded at VG+ with light background mostly in quiter parts...labels are clean of writting and have little spindle wear.
