DESCRIPTION
I just gave this record another listen and I have to say, I'm still unimpressed and glad I stumbled across this. Being an old school SOUNDGARDEN fan, I felt the talent in that great band would strech far and wide. It is a shame that CHRIS CORNELL's projects have been somewhat less passionate than his work in SG, but It's a pleasure to see MATT CAMERON doing much more than playing skins for PEARL JAM. WELLWATER CONSPIRACY is the brainchild (or moonchild) of CAMERON and MONSTER MAGNET guitarist JOHN McBAIN, and they rock. In this, their second release, they meld psychedelic rock with funk and hooky alternative progression to make a solid recording that grows on you after every listen. CAMERON does vocals, and well too. His voice flows nicely with a lazy hamonic hook to the ever-excellent drumming he also provides. McBAIN I wasn't too familiar with prior to this but proves his skill and then some with some great string work. JOSH HOMME, the superhero from QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, stops by as well to provide vox on three of the tracks. If you like good alternative rock 'n' roll, there is no conspiracy, this is the real deal. I can't wait to explore the other releases by this cool band, after hearing this record- you will too. Good stuff. Limited edition of 1000 copies!
