WARRIOR - "LET BATTLE COMMENCE" - STEREO VINYL LP  - RAINBOW SOUND  - RSL 132 - 1980

Description

A 33 1/3 RPM stereo vinyl LP, "Let Battle Commence" by NWOBHM band, Warrior

There have been a number of British bands by this name over the years, and there currently is a US band of this name.

This particular band is the short-lived Chesterfield band, formed in 1979 in North Derbyshire, England.

The album was released in 1980 on the Nottingham-based Rainbow Sound label, and recorded at Rainbow Sound Studio, Nottingham in May-June, 1980.

This was their only album, and I understand this was released by the band themselves and limited to only 500 copies.

It was produced by the band and Paddy Flynn (who also engineered)

The band were:- Dave Hewitt, vocals; Steve Allsopp, lead & harmony guitar; Mick Bannister, rhythm & harmony guitar; Kev Barsby, bass; Barry Bingham, drums.

The sleeve design was by Dave Hewitt with full track listing, personnel details and acknowledgements on the back.

Plain, white paper, replacement inner sleeve

The labels have the track listing for the whole album on side A, and a reproduction of the cover painting on side B

Catalogue number:- RSL 132

Matrix run-outs:-

  • Side A etched: RSL 132 A-1 C5370
  • Side B etched: RSL 132 B-1 C5370

  •

Track listing:-

Side 1

1. "Let Battle Commence"

2. "Long Stretch, Broadmoor Blues"

3. "Night-time Girl"

4.     "Memories"

Side 2

1. "Yesterday's Hero"

2. "Invaders"

3.     "Ulster, Bloody Ulster"

4.     "Warrior"

Condition

The vinyl  looks VG+.

No visible marks or scratches, on playback there are one or two faint pops that don't detract from the listening. Plays well.

Sleeve VG+, slight edge wear and very faint ring wear. Some faint creases in the laminate.

The inner is a plain, white paper replacement (although I don't think the original would have been much different)

Buy It Now  - We often get messages asking for Buy It Now prices on our items.  Because we are a charity and need to raise as much as possible for the items we sell, we prefer to keep each listing as an auction and therefore do not have a Buy It Now price, unless the item is already listed with such a price.
