Description
A very rare and beautiful Deluxe edition of this recording made even more collectible due to it containing drawings from not only Andy Warhol but also his early mentor Cecil Beaton who apparently got then little-known Warhol the job of illustrating this set. These Warhol drawings are from 1954/55 so are quite early. They are light sketches of ballet dancers.
Each Mercury Living Presence record shows a little wear but no skips or deep scratches all are Vacuum cleaned. Labels are clean but have spindle marks. Deluxe padded cloth cover has some light discolouration to edges and a couple of small spots (see photos). Inside there are 8 leafs (16pages) of text and photos and drawings that are still bound in. There are also 7 leafs and one photo (2 tape marks on back) that were originally bound in but are now loose (hence the VG, and not EX grading of the sleeve), these contain the majority of Warhols drawings. Also there is one paper banner, probably from the original packaging that has survived. All in all a beautiful set that I have only ever seen one of in 35 years of collecting!
