Description
This auction is for a very rare 5 LP box set from Wagner, Die Walküre, Record Nos. ALP 1257-61, from the the famous "His Master's Voice" record label.
The box itself shows small signs of wear (NM-MT+), because of it's old age, but the records inside are all 5 in remarkable condition (MINT+). They each have their own serial number from ALP. 1257 to ALP. 1261 and are still in their original holders and sleeves!!
Inside the box is an original (English) booklet which contains very detailed information about "Die Walküre". It shows us the division between the different acts and scenes on each record, and at the end of booklet is a detailed description (summary) of the content of each act and scene. This is special, since you now have the possibility to fully visualise the story.
It also contains information such as the cast, valkyries, and other background information.
The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra plays "Die Walküre" and is conducted by Wilhelm Furtwängler. It is recorded in the Musikvereinsaal, Vienna.
This is a very nice addition to any classical collection and something you will not see again soon, so don't miss out.
