DAVID CROSBY
If I Could Only Remember My Name
...USA - Atlantic - white label - 7203
ORIGINAL 1971 FIRST ADVANCE PRESSING
********PROMOTIONAL WHITE LABLE COPY********
Easily David Crosby's best Lp, thiis 1971 release is loaded to the hilt with timeless tracks and backed up by his hippie doper buddies, including most of JEFFERSON AIRPLANE and The Grateful Dead, not to mention Neil Young, members of Quicklsilver Messenger Service & Santana ...That's a top heavy stew of psychedelicized talents!
Thanks to his much-publicized personal travails, it's easy to overlook the multiple talents that originally made Crosby a star in his days with The Byrds and Crosby, Stills and Nash. This, his first solo effort, was recorded in 1971 (following Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's Deja Vu) and contains some of his most impressive vocal and songwriting work, including the haunting "Laughing," the mantra-like "Music Is Love," and the extended, impressionistic "Cowboy Movie." With guest appearances by such famous friends as Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Grace Slick, and Jerry Garcia, it's a fascinating chapter in an always-interesting career that's all too often been overshadowed by headlines.
The white label promo is a fascinating top collectors rarity - rarely ever surfaces as most copies are tucked in collections with the no-trade, no sale...here's a spare original WHITE LABEL ORIGINAL advanced pressing from 1971...
CONDITION: The cover is CLEAN EX (excellent!) very little prior use detectable at all - has a promo sticker on front cover and the original bumper type sticker that was on the cellophane only -across the top cover - which is exceedingly rare since most folks ripped away the cello and sticker...
Then... the vinyl has some minor top surface marks, faint, nothing deep...looks VG+, plays decent.
****BONUS stock copy original vinyl is added to this package in EX (excellent!) condition, maybe light paper scuffs at worse, plays great!
****This is therefore a 2 LP set with again, one original 1971 White label promo vinyl and one original 1971 stock copy vinyl...
DAVID CROSBY ~ IF I COULD ONLY REMEMBER MY NAME
