Vitaphone Test Pressing - "The Singing Fool" starring Al Jolson Special Vitaphone test label 16-inch one-sided heavy shellac pressing by Victor Records Like all Vitaphone discs, record plays at 33-1/3rpm from inner groove outward. Record is dated / Inspected September 5, 1928 the film was released Sept. 24th; premiered at New York's Winter Garden theater Sept. 19th This disc contains Reel 3 for "The Singing Fool" This sound-track disc contains a song only used for the U.S. release of the film ( the song was "cut" from all releases outside the U.S., and the film portion for the song is now lost ) Al Jolson sings three songs on this disc - "I'm Sitting On Top Of The World" "The Spaniard That Blighted My Life" ( "cut" from all released versions outside U.S. ) "There's A Rainbow 'Round My Shoulder" This early sound film was a "part-talkie", and the sound-track contains some dialogue in addition to songs. Record is in Excellent to E+ condition . . . beautiful sound. Media Mail is $10.00 within U.S. Will pack carefully, between "junk" 16-inch discs for protection, but will not be responsible for any damage. Domestic U.S. Insurance is at buyers expense. Will accept bids from outside U.S., but understand that overseas mail will be VERY expensive.
