This is one of a number of single-sided vinyl test-pressings that I will be offering now and in future weeks, depending upon response.  They were made in the early '60s at the request of Larry Carr, who was producing an excellent series of LP reissues for Columbia Records at the time.  These were found, after Larry's death some years ago, in the far reaches of the jammed closets in his Manhattan apartment.  The records were in 12" LP sleeves, stuck into paper grocery bags.  Consequently, they tend to have minor scuffs and abrasions which do not affect their superb playing quality and value to the serious collector/archivist. There is occasional evidence of some heat or age deterioration to the surface of the original metal stamping part, but it does not present any significant detriment to the playback of the record, unless noted. This pressing, and the others I will be offering, are a remarkable opportunity to hear aspects of a classic recording that are seldom to found on even the best quality shellac originals, even in mint condition.  I want to provide an adequate description of the condition of this record; it has received, to my knowledge, only minimal play by me or Larry Carr (which is a plus, since Larry's record playing equipment was questionable). Please contact me with any questions you might have prior to bidding. *Note* The set-up for making one-off 78 pressings at Columbia's Bridgeport plant was not ideal for certain stamping elements; the wide outside pre-groove area seemed to be a problem.  On this disc, the playing area begins precariously close to the rim of the record, but it is complete, simply requiring a little caution in playback.  Fabulous record.  Great Crosby vocal!
