You are in for a treat when you purchase these three albums that provide the score of the NBC Television series, Victory At Sea. The music is arranged and conducted by Robert Russell Bennett and the RCA Victor Symphony Orchestra. Each piece played has an individually written description on on the jackets of Vol 1 and 2, so you can put yourself into the music with a historical perspective. Volume 3, on the other hand provides the actual sounds of naval battle with 16-inch & 8-inch guns, anti-aircraft guns, combat planes, torpedo launchings, submarine crash-dives, and more, all enhanced with the orchestra background music. The inside of the Vol 3 cover provides 15 pages of actual WWII photographs to further draw you into the sounds of the recording. These three vinyl records are in very good condition with no visible scratches or nicks, no warping, and good quality sound. The covers are not faded, marked or scratched. Vol 3 cover has sight corner/edge rubs, and all three have the original inner sleeves. The only sound issue is on Volume 1, side 2: the second song has three short "ticks," which may be able to be cleared up with groove cleaning. This album set comes from a smoke free, pet free, climate controlled home. Whether you have seen the television series or not, they represent a historical perspective on the naval battles of WWII, and you will enjoy both the music and the historical depiction.
