Description

I'm listing several early Victor Monarch 10" single sided discs.   These are of the '1st typeface' pressing of the 'Victor Dog' series, dating from July '02 - May '03 production.
   Here we have #583 'The Laughing Song' Performed by George W. Johnson, who was the 1st African American to perform in the recording industry.  George was born into Slavery, and became famous as the composer and performer of this recording and another of his compositions - "The Whistling Coon".  
  Record plays well with normal background.  A Great Addition to your collection.   A nice disc for its age of 120+ years.
