Listed for sale is our second, extremely rare recording by the vocal group ‘The Lyrics’. Song titles are: ‘Bring Back Your Love to Me’ b/w ‘Stop, Listen’ [Instr.]. Classified as 1960’s vocal/doo-wop/Northern Soul. This 7 inch record is NOT made of vinyl but is an acetate or ‘lacquer’. These are used for the production of records and are never released to the general public.
Per Wikipedia: ‘Acetates were produced in very small quantities . . . The majority of discs found on the market were not labeled or marked . . . It was generally up to the recipients to scribble the song title or name of the artist onto the disc by hand’.
As you can see, these titles were typed onto the label where the acetate was cut, ‘Sound Plus Studios’ in Phila, PA for Cameo-Parkway. Comes in generic ‘Audiodiscs’ brown slv. Disk is a beautiful VG+ or better cond.
