MONO Disc Jockey Promo LP
I'm slowly liquidating my vinyl collection after collecting for a few years. And this is by far the rarest, most coveted item I had. It's a first pressing, promo only copy of the first Velvet Underground album. Yellow Verve labels are marked 'For Disc Jockey Use Only,' like ANY DJ EVER spun tracks from this on the radio in '67. Anyway, bananna is partially intact. Of course it has the "torso shot" on the back. Obsessives will note that a yellow Verve label indicates an East Coast promo only LP, whereas the more commonly seen White Label Promos denoted a west coast origin. I can't even being to speculate how few of these were pressed, and how many survive to this day. And, it's the MONO mix.
Now, about the condition: those only interested in a mint/near mint copy of this should steer clear. This is definitely used, though I only played it personally a couple times. While not unplayable, it has many light/medium scratches, gouges, and general signs of use. With adequate tonearm weight, I remember it playing through almost perfectly. Please bid on this as a rarity, and not as a listening copy. Cover is a VG- with a typical amount of shelf wear, but otherwise ok. One minor half-inch or so spilt in the inside seam of the gatefold.
