About This Record.  Here is an exceptionally rare and sought after promotional only DJ yellow label promo MGM copy of The Velvet Underground's EP entitled VU-1 which features a promo ad and snippets from their third LP.  This does NOT include the incredibly rare PS for this release.  See details regarding condition below.  This 45rpm EP is the same on both sides, and features a Radio DJ Spot advertisement reciting the wording on the back of the super rare PS (not included), as well as excerpts from the songs I'm Set Free, What Goes On, and I'm Beginning to See The Light which appear on the Velvets third LP on MGM.  Nice vinyl, but writing on labels.  Sorry for my reserve, but it is $100+ less than I paid for this rare beast many years ago.  Just try to find one now!  My copy with the Picture Sleeve and no writing on the labels cost me $1675+!  I sure miss Nico, and Sterling Morrison (not to mention Andy Warhol). So to anticipate questions, here are the words to the intro spot DJ recording, that repeats the words that appear on the back of the rare PS for this release (not included) are:

Picture Sleeve Condition. None; sorry!  This includes no Picture Sleeve.  I just bought a copy for myself at great expense and now I have to sell this to help pay for it!  The 45rpm that accompanied mine was in slightly lesser condition but had nice labels .. . so here is your chance.

Vinyl Condition.  The vinyl looks EX+ better with just very light paper marks, no marks of abuse or any potential issue. I've never seen a nicer looking copy.   But like all copies I have heard, this plays with a little background noise, especially in the beginning of each side of the vinyl.  This was graded VG++ to NM by the seller (who did not use the EX grade); I agree visually, but I note background noise even though all copies had it once played on a Radio Station Turntable even one time, I suspect.  No worries, this comes cleaned on my VPI record cleaning machine in a new white plain paper sleeve and plastic sleeve.

Matrix Numbers.  Matrix numbers: VU-1 Side 1, and VU-1 Side 2

Labels.  The labels have writing on each side (please see both photos) Otherwise, very nice. No tears, stickers, residue, just that darn writing.  See photos. 

Innsersleeve.  Comes cleaned on my VPI record cleaning machine as per above and placed in a new plain white paper innersleeve (so the old dust doesn't reattach itself to the vinyl).  

About Me.  I have been a Record Collector for Decades.  I bought this many years ago during my travels and have kept it well-preserved in plastic sleeves and vinyl separated outside the cover.
