Velvet Underground Self titled 3rd LP - 1st issue UK 1969 MGM CS 8108 - Rare Val Valentin mix

The vinyl has lots of light marking but only one feelable scratch, though that causes jumping through the first verse of Candy Says. It otherwise plays through fine with background crackle that's not overly intrusive, still a really nice listen. The labels have some minor marks but no writing. The sleeve has a fair bit of storage wear/creasing, some splitting to the bottom edge, and on the back some marks/discolouration and 2 small names in pen.

"This 1969 UK edition contains the 'Valentin' mix of the album, by MGM engineer Val Valentin, as does the Canada edition, in contrast to all other worldwide releases prior to the mid-80's which instead contain Lou Reed's alternate 'Closet' mix.

As well as a "clean, bright, evenly balanced" sound, the Valentin mix also features an entirely different take of Some Kinda Love.

The image of Lou Reed on the reverse sleeve is split horizontally on this issue. On all other issues the image is split vertically."
