Velvet Underground ORIG US LPWhite light/White Heat VG+ '68 Verve V6-5046
Original 1st Press US LP released in 1968 on Verve Records. Cat: V6-5046. Features visible skull on front cover, tracklisting on back cover mis-titles "Here she comes now" as "There she comes now", Back cover credits Lou Reed for "Lead guitar" rather that just guitar, Andy Warhol is credited on back of cover, Spine reads "V6-5046 WHITE LIGHT/ WHITE HEAT THE VELVET UNDERGROUND VERVE" and Three Prong music credits on all tracks. Matrix numbers are : V6-5046 Side 1 MGS-1258 12 S (Block shape)/ V6 5046 Side 2 MGS-1259 11 S (Block shape).
Uncovered in the out back of N.S.W. this record is part of a recent collection stored and unplayed for the last 20 years. Collected during the 90's and mostly sourced from overseas kept in a cool dry cellar there are some tasty gems on offer and we look forward to listing them over the next few months. All records have been professionally cleaned and play tested and graded conservatively.
The world of pop music was hardly ready for The Velvet Underground's first album when it appeared in the spring of 1967, but while The Velvet Underground and Nico sounded like an open challenge to conventional notions of what rock music could sound like (or what it could discuss), 1968's White Light/White Heat was a no-holds-barred frontal assault on cultural and aesthetic propriety. Recorded without the input of either Nico or Andy Warhol, White Light/White Heat was the purest and rawest document of the key Velvets lineup of Lou Reed, John Cale, Sterling Morrison, and Maureen Tucker, capturing the group at their toughest and most abrasive.

There are a few light spindle marks on labels. Record has some light scuff marks and very light scratches that cause some crackles and is in VG+ condition. Cover has alight ring wear, some light marks and a few small surface tears around edges and is in VG+ condition.
Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
