Vinyl is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
Best I've seen for this record EVER!

The blue & metallic silver labels are super clean as well, and the area around the spindle holes are near perfect!

I remember holding my breath just before slipping the vinyl from the inner sleeve for the first time, hoping for the best, then being able to quickly exhale with a smile upon my face while viewing this fine specimen.
I know you'll be just as pleased as I!

All pictures seen below are actual pics of this album (record and cover) that you are bidding on.

The gatefold cover is quite nice, with the banana sticker 100% intact, with no signs of ever trying to have been peeled.

No seam splits, and the spine is intact w/no cracks etc.

Just a couple of things to make you aware of. First off, there is some sort of a light yellowish dotted spotting pattern in places, on the front & back cover, mostly around the outer edges, and also in the middle gatefold area. I have seen this on many of the covers for this record through the years. Not sure what causes it, or if it can be removed. It's really not that bad in the big picture, but it is present and I just wanted to make you aware of it. The back cover (with air-brushed torso image projected behind the band, see pic below) has some light minimal wear in the darker color areas (like the bottom black areas under the five individual face shots along the bottom portion of the cover, and in the projected background behind the band Again, see pic below. Again, not bad really, but present.

Lastly, the original owner printed his first initial and last name at the top center of the back cover, as you can see in the pic below.

Even with these minor discrepancies, all things considered I assure you that this is an absolute keeper copy, most worthy of your permanent collection!

Sorry to be so winded, but I just want you to be 100% informed on the condition of this fine legendary LP release (especially in this case, where not only the condition of the vinyl, but also the condition of the cover is a most important factor in the overall package).

The release of this album was (and still is) a most important turning point in the development of the true coming-of-age era of rock & roll.

Low starting bid with no reserve, to make this a true auction.

Feel free to check out (and research) my feedback, and bid with confidence!

Just a couple of last minute things to add. First off, the album does come with the original Verve Records inner sleeve. Secondly. someone sent a question wondering if there is any surface noise when the record is played, including the quiet parts. In answer to that, I've decided to post a 30 second sound bite here. At random, I put the needle down on the record at the very beginning of the first track on Side Two, Heroin, which indeed is representative of a "quiet part" on the LP. Many of you know that the very beginning of each side of a record can tell the tale of how the vinyl has been handled. The sample you'll hear by clicking below is straight from the vinyl you're bidding on, with no "touching up" whatsoever. The entire record, including the grooves between tracks, is just as clean as you're about to hear. This album plays evey bit as good as it looks from start to finish. The vinyl indeed rates a NEAR MINT grading in every way!
