and unplayed or played very few times, AND/OR THE BEST COPIES POSSIBLE of many choice records.

Purchased: Used. Excellent 2nd album by this fine UK band now minus Elmer Gantry but still with the powerhouse rhythm section of Hudson & Ford who would later join the mighty Strawbs. Co-led by the dual guitars/vocals of Johnny Joyce and the criminally under-rated Paul Brett who would continue with a substantial ongoing musical career first leading Paul Brett's Sage and then subsequently other fine lineups, as well as some fine solo outings. IMHO there are many guitarists out there in household name bands that got famous that aren't nearly as talented players as Paul Brett  is who's a master of just about any musical style one can think of and it was already all on display here where he started out professionally. Hudson plays sitar on the eastern tinged psychedelic Raga and The Beatles Eleanor Rigby gets a particularly apt treatment here as well followed by the short, uncredited album ending hysterical laugh track! From the time of really classic albums that stand the test of time unlike most music from the last 3 decades here's a fine example!!

Cover condition: M- having fully laminated front with miniscule rub off on corners and bottom edge near spine. Rear has very slight soiling/yellowing in the cream coloured off white areas but no wear + the original stereo sticker!

Spine condition: EX+ to M-/Fully legible laminated with mininal separation mostly near spine. Also has 3 miniscule creases, 1 of which slightly perforates the 2nd V in Velvet and slight rub-off on the H in Hustler's.

Inner sleeve: M-/Original white paper with insubstantial wear, toning and creasing. Top left corner has CBS 63692 written in pen.

Record condition: Ex (+) to M-/There is an insubstantial scuff mark going across A4 into A5 and a few faint random scattered hairlines, none of which amounts to any audible discrepancies. This is a very well cared for strong excellent copy that plays Ex (+) to M- with very clean and clear fidelity throughout having very little backround noise of any kind. The solid heavy old vinyl retains most of it's full original lustre and shows very little if any wear. It was cleaned on a VPI HW-17. Unless you're fortunate enough to already have a virtually Mint or Like New copy of this 41 year old gem, grab this one now because it's the next best thing to one and doesn't fall much short of that for even the most finicky collector!

MY PRESERVATION POLICY on many records that I revered was simple and I share it with you now so that you understand why you take virtually no risk buying from me providing the album was bought new and not used originally. When I'd buy a "new" album and it was something I liked a lot and still available (most of my new albums were purchased in the early-mid 1970's!) I'd initially play it between 15-25 times to become familiar with it and then sell it to a friend as a still EX+ well preserved nice copy. (Adding outer & inner plastic sleeves was standard procedure additionally limiting cover wear and/or hairline paper sleeve marks.) Then I'd buy another new copy and in some cases if a particular favorite then yet another, meaning that I only played the 2nd copy (now my 1st) 5-10 times and the 3rd (now my 2nd if I kept 2) once or twice, always initially taping or now in more recent years currently burning to disc 1 copy within the first couple of  plays thus significantly limiting play to this day on most of my lps. I did/do this with many single copy rarities as well so most play was/is on tapes or cd-rs. I bought a lot of CDs of favorite things also which further helped preserve my vinyl and limit play of much of it. Sometimes I also acquired rare British and European vinyl which I never saw imported in stores and sold new in the United States or Canada from contacts I established through mail correspondence during the 1970's. I developed contacts in England, France, Germany, Holland & Norway. Be aware that the MAJORITY of albums or occasionally 45's that I list ARE FREQUENTLY my ONLY COPIES so bid accordingly as you'll not likely see most of them listed by me again.
