Description

This is part of a big auction full of gospel record from Peacock, Gospel, Savoy & Nashboro.  Great stuff that is often overlooked.  Many of these are promos and all are in great shape.

Here's the info on this item:

Release: The Highway QC's - Working on the Building / Sad How They Done My Lord

Format: 45 rpm 7" single

Year: 1959

Notes: Original promo release with the white labels. One of a handful of singles by this group who got their name from Highway Baptist Church in Chicago.  They count Lou Rawls and Sam Cooke among their past members. More doo-wop leaning vocals here, definitely has the Vee-Jay sound. Great subtle guitar work as well.

Vinyl Condition: VG+, vinyl is in great shape, very clean with almost no wear at all. Both sides play very well with no noticeable background noise.  No pops/ticks/skips, etc. Labels are really clean as well.  The only issue is a red marker X, most likely placed there to indicate the "plug side".  This is a very nice copy overall.

Due to travel and the holidays, this will be my last auction of the year.  Mark me as a favorite though because I have some killer rockabilly and small label blues/R&B auctions coming in January.

I want buying from me to be a good experience for you. I also know that condition can be very subjective, so I encourage you to see pics for exact condition details and ask questions if you need additional information. As always, the item you see is the one you will get. Please see my feedback, I think that will show that I am an accurate and fair grader and make sure my customers are happy.

I will combine shipping for anyone who wins more than one item.  If you do need combined shipping, please wait for an invoice before paying.
