VARIOUS ARTISTS - Walkin' By Myself - Chess LP 1446 - Original
A nice copy of this rare, original black label Chess compilation. It features Jimmy Rogers, Eddie Boyd, Memphis Slim, Floyd Jones, Washboard Sam, Lulu Reed and Roscoe Gordon. The front & back covers are in nice shape. There's scotch tape on the top & bottom seams. Top has a 2" seam split and approx. 1" along the bottom. No stickers, writing or mold. Labels are also nice. The vinyl has light scuffing and shows age, but it plays well. It includes an original dated letter (from 1961) on WORC letter-head to a woman in Boston who must have supported the radio station with advertising or some other form of assistance (see photos).
All records are sold on an AS IS basis. No returns. I am not a record dealer, so I won't attempt to grade anything I list, as collectors often use different methods of grading. However, I will take note of any imperfections that are visible. I've been a private collector for years and am now listing many rare and hard-to-find blues records.
