CONDITION DETAILS European Import Double Album. Vinyl plays nicely (play-graded in its entirety). Gate-fold cover looks great; no scuffing (front and back). Inner sleeves are original (lyrics), all seams are solid. Spine is unbroken, clean, and easy-to-read. Very-little shelf-wear along the top and bottom-edge. Opening is crisp with signs of light use. (This record is not a cut-out.)

ABOUT THE RECORD Hymns to the Silence, by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, peaked at No. 5 in the UK and #99 on Billboard 200 in the U.S. It was his first ever studio double album. The songs on the album were primarily concerning two themes, the singer's uneasy relationship with the music business and a nostalgic yearning for his youth in Belfast. Two singles were released from this album: I Can't Stop Loving You and Why Must I Always Explain? A reviewer on allmusic.com commented, "the songs, or more accurately (as the title makes very clear) hymns, combine the elements that have guided Morrison's best albums -- R&B, folk, pop, Celtic, rock, even gospel -- for a satisfying journey through the mystic and the real."
